Learning support

A school year stalls on small things: a notebook, a pen, a geometry box. Each year the foundation sets out to place those basics with students who need them.

Why this work

Fees are discussed often. The everyday cost of paper and pens is easier to miss, and it falls hardest on families already choosing between the shop and the kitchen. A student should not have to borrow a page in order to attend.

Material helps only if it is usable and if it reaches the student it was meant for. We work with schools and local volunteers so distribution is orderly, and so new stationery is handed over respectfully, not tossed from a vehicle.

What we provide

  1. The tools of a classroom

Notebooks, long books, drawing books, pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, and, where the class needs them, geometry materials. The list is set with the school, not guessed from a distance.

  2. A yearly rhythm

The aim is a distribution each year, in time for the term, with room for a school that asks between those drives.

  3. New and fit to use

Students receive new stationery. Used clothes are a different programme. We do not mix the two, and we do not pass on leftovers that a child cannot write with.

  4. A quiet handover

Names and need stay with the school and the foundation. A distribution is not a stage. We would rather a student leave with a full bag than with a photograph of the moment.
